The Mini Mountain Bike Safari is a shorter version of the Mountain Bike Safari.

Do you have a short amount of time? You want to ride the essentials of the Alps? We've got what you need...

You will ride Morzine in the Portes du Soleil, Chamonix and the Grand Massif, the best of the best !

A short stay need not mean less mountain biking, you will get your dose of singletracks, long climbs, epic downhills and breathtaking landscapes... Short but sweet !

The Mini Mountain Bike Safari is lift assited on all 3 days, so you do not need to be super fit! Just used to a moderately high level of exercise and familiar with mountain biking !

After the days riding you will return to a pretty alpine chalet Hotel "Les Airelles" in the mountain village of Les Carroz in the Grand Massif and taste the delights of savoyard cuisine, relax on a sunny balcony with a beer surrounded by mountains and countryside with the relaxing sound of a mountain stream to lull you to sleep, adding to the idyllic village location.

The Schedule: arrival on Friday morning

DAY 1 (Friday) : Departing from Morzine considered as the 'Mountain Bike Mecca' of Europe we will make a grand tour of the Portes du Soleil, the largest ski area in the world, with over 650km of slopes! We will cross the Swiss border to ride in the villages of Morgins, Champoussin and Crosets. We will pass underneath the 'Dents du Midi' mountain range surrounded by a fantastic environment of glaciers and high mountains peaks. A great day of mountain biking awaits you...

DAY 2 (Saturday) : Riding in the legendary area of Chamonix under the 'Lord of the Alps', the Mont Blanc, is a dream destination for many mountain bikers. We will realize this dream by crossing the valley with the aid of the lift at Le Tour via Flegere, providing our descent into the valley of Vallorcine on a beautiful singletrack which slaloms under the larch trees. With this exceptional landscape and the varying trails, it will satisfy the hungriest of mountain bike riders. Some time after the days ride spent visiting Chamonix to absorb the historic alpine mountain ambiance and gaze up at the Mont Blanc as you meander through the streets or sit and drink a well deserved beer, you can't help but be in awe of its presence.

DAY 3 (Sunday) : Starting from Les Carroz, in the heart of the Grand Massif, this day will offer you a fantastic ride between the valleys of the Giffre and Arve rivers, between green mountain pastures and grey rock slabs. We will reach the top of the Flaine ski resort at 2500m of altitude with the use of a gondala lift. From the top of Flaine the views are spectacular of Mont Blanc and the surrounding mountains, where on a clear day it is possible to see 200km south over the Alps.

The downhill descent of 1500m and 12km ride back to the chalet is just the perfect way to end a weekend... Followed by a beer of course!

NB: this tour is run with a minimum of 4 clients. Lunches on Friday of arrival and Saturday of departure are not included, but can be arranged at an additional cost.

  • You ride 2-3 times a week for 1h30 non stop minimum (road or mtb).
  • You can ride at aerobic pace with short anaerobic sections without excessive fatigue.
  • You are able to cycle 4-5 hours per day.
  • You are able to climb 800 meters vertical ascent ( 2400 feet) a day for 3-5 days and can push or carry your bike uphill or downhill on short sections( few meters).
  • You like to challenge yourself

  • You can manage your balance uphill and downhill on loose gravels, rocks and roots.
  • You feel confident in riding singletrack with few roots and rocks, on dry or wet terrain.
  • You can ride short rock garden of 30 meters.
  • You feel confident riding downhill for about 20 minutes non stop.
  • You able able to go up and down a step of about 20 centimeters.
  • You can handle switchbacks.
  • You can ride with a little exposure at times and would like to improve your skills.
  • YOUR BIKE
  • The best option is to ride on your own mountain bike, as it is familiar to you.
  • PLEASE NO XC bikes or short travel bikes (below 130mm)
  • A full suspension bike with at least 130 mm of front and back travel is required.
  • You need to have big grippy tires front and back, minimum 2.3 solid casing.
  • Possibility of renting a full suspension bike from 365 euros a week in the local sports stores (list on request).

    Our gourmet sandwiches are now reknown as we love to prepare some " deeluxe" lunch for fill your biker's hungry stomchs! So we provide a different sandwich freshly prepared everyday with delicious bread ( organic or whole wheat when possible) and local specialities. In addition we propose unlimited acces to trail snack and fruits!
    Pick up / Drop Off / Meeting point
    The closest international airport is GENEVA / Switzerland, about one hour transfer from LES CARROZ. The pick up and drop off from / to Geneva airport are included in the price of the trip. Please let us in advance your flight details. You will meet your guide and driver in Les Carroz at dinner time. Please do not assemble your bike before you have arrived in at the hotel you'll stay in on saturday evening. Dependding wich trip you ride , you can leave your bike box safely at the hotel and find it back on friday.
